Assam: Hey, don’t get your hopes up. Even if you do find anything, they’ll just say thanks and then make you disappear. That’s how they operate.

(Your face flushes at your slip of calling the bot “her.” You look down at your food.)

You: I think I should go now.

Assam: What’s the rush, Po?

(You get up to leave, wrestling with the decision of whether to turn Mia in for the reward. The reward money could mean a life outside of this plant forever.)

(As you walk out, Boba and Assam exchange knowing looks about your slip.)
