The Pursuit (Part 2)

"Hostile presence confirmed. Eight enemies closing in."

(You lock onto the enemy, your jet trailing closely. Just then, the black aircraft trembles, its core flickering.)

You: Kim, what’s the status on that thing?

Kim: Critical instability detected. Brace for impact.

(The black aircraft explodes, a blinding flash filling the sky. You steady your jet, squinting through the shockwave.)

You: What in the—

Kim: Explosion confirmed. Craft self-detonated. Detecting multiple heat signatures.

(You look out. Emerging from the blast zone, a formation of semi-transparent aircraft glides toward you, surrounding your jet from all directions.)

Kim: Hostile presence confirmed. Eight enemies closing in.

You: So they had backup. Just like the Republic to send out ghosts.

(You eye the approaching aircraft, instinct kicking in as you prepare for the fight.)

You: (smirking) Good—Kim, full analysis. Let’s show them why they call me the Ace.
