Ed and a junior pilot in military uniforms stand in a high-tech control room with large windows overlooking a city at sunset.
"That’s what they want you to believe."

Junior Pilot: What kind of parts?

You: Memories. Maybe more. He kept his distance, even from me and Jun.

Junior Pilot: But he’s still Raf, isn’t he?

You: Not the Raf I knew. The Raf I knew wouldn’t avoid his friends. He wouldn’t miss my wedding. Jun… she still hasn’t forgiven him for that.

Junior Pilot: Why would he—

You: Because something happened out there.

Junior Pilot: People say he’s holding the Republic together.

You: That’s what they want you to believe.

Junior Pilot: Sir?

You: Nothing. Just… don’t trust everything you see.

(You turn back to the screen. The broadcast cuts to Raf standing tall, the Republic's emblem glowing behind him as the crowd roars.)

You: (under your breath) What really happened out there, Raf?
