Two gang members with bloodstained shirts walk down a dimly lit Hong Kong street at night. Neon signs glow in the background. Mood: tense.
"We get dirty, they stay clean. That’s how it works."

(Scene: A Dim Alley, somewhere in Hong Kong. YOU and your associate, P, walk side by side, your shirts smeared with blood and sweat.)

P: Feels like we went too far tonight. People were watching—recording everything.

You: Let ’em. That’s how it’s meant to be.

P: What if this blows up? What if it lands on us?

You: It won’t. Orders came from the boss man.

P: I know, but what if someone decides we’re expendable?

You: You worry too much. If anything goes wrong, they won’t come for us.

P: You sound awfully sure.

You: We’ve seen behind the curtain. If anyone should be worried, it’s them.

P: You mean… the uniforms?

You: Who else? Them, and the ones pulling their strings. They needed us tonight. We get dirty, they stay clean. That’s how it works.

P: Yeah… Guess that’s how it works.

You: (lighting a cigarette) Always has. (pauses, exhales) What a hell of a day it was.

(The two of you walk off into the shadows, leaving the cigarette’s glow lingering behind.)
